Hitting a home run is already one of the most exciting moments in sports so leave it to Carnival Cruise Lines to make a round-tripper even more special and memorable.

As part of a previously announced partnership with the RoughRiders, the Double A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, Carnival has created a fun new way to celebrate home runs at award-winning Dr Pepper Ballpark in Frisco, Texas. Every time a RoughRiders player hits a home run, fans hear the iconic sound of a Carnival ship horn, fireworks launch from the outfield and celebratory graphics illuminate the LED signs around the stadium.

As the Official Cruise Line of the Frisco RoughRiders, the cruise line is delivering new ways to have fun at the ballpark through such promotions as Carnival Getaway Grill featuring unlimited ballpark hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, bratwursts, nachos, popcorn, peanuts, and Dr Pepper products for one all-inclusive price.

Carnival is also matching monetary donations made by fans during the age-old Texas League tradition of “Passing the Boot” for the RoughRiders Foundation, team and individual players after each RoughRiders’ home run. Fans are also randomly selected to participate in “Carnival Crush Inning” to win a free “Fun Ship” cruise for two if a RoughRiders player hits a home run during that inning. Carnival’s recognizable red, white and blue logo is also positioned throughout the 10,000-seat stadium, which includes one of the world’s largest outfield LED signs.

The RoughRiders partnership is a first for Carnival and continues the line’s efforts at promoting its position as Texas’ number one cruise operator. The line pioneered year-round cruising from Galveston and currently has ships based year-round at the historic seaport — Carnival Magic and Carnival Triumph, which together carry more than 450,000 passengers annually – more than any other cruise operator.
