Carnival Cruise Lines - CRUISIN

Main Dining Room

Carnival Cruise Lines - Main Dining Room

Guests dining in the two main dining rooms (one dining room on the Spirit-class ships) will enjoy a three-course affair. It’s important to leave yourself plenty of time (90+ minutes), especially if you’re planning to see a scheduled show after dinner.

Dining Room Menus are available in: English, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese & Spanish.

Dining Options

All ships will offer Dinner Service nightly in the Main Dining Room.

Breakfast / Brunch / Lunch dining options will vary by ship and day, see details below.

Carnival currently offers two separate main dining room menus:

  • American Table Menu: This is your typical main dining room menu with a selection of appetizers, soups, salads, entrees, and desserts. This is the menu you’ll find each cruise casual night, with the exception of formal nights.

  • American Feast Menu: This is the menu offered in the main dining room on formal (cruise elegant) nights. This menu will be offered once or twice per cruise, depending on the length of your sailing. Formal nights are also the only evening you’ll find table cloths being used in the main dining rooms.

All ships also offer breakfast, lunch and dinner daily in the Lido Deck Restaurant at no additional charge.

Dress Code / Requirements
(For The Main Dining Room)

Most evenings we have a Cruise Casual dress code, but there are those Cruise Elegant evenings one or two nights throughout the voyage where guests will have the opportunity to showcase their more elegant attire. Both dress codes for the dining rooms are described below and pertain to children as well.

For those who want casual attire for dinner time, the Seaview Bistro on the Lido Deck is open nightly and has a more relaxed theme. However, shirts and shoes/footwear (flip-flops) must be worn at all times inside the Lido Restaurant.

Cruise Casual Dining Dress Code

  • Gentlemen: Sport slacks, khakis, jeans (no cut-offs), dress shorts (long), collared sport shirts.
  • Ladies: Casual dresses, casual skirts or pants and blouses, summer dresses; Capri pants, dress shorts, jeans (no cut-offs).

Note: Not permitted in the dining room during the Cruise Casual dinner for ladies and gentlemen: shorts, gym shorts, basketball shorts, beach flip-flops, bathing suit attire, cut-off jeans, sleeveless shirts for men and baseball hats.

Cruise Elegant Dining Dress Code

  • Gentlemen: Dress slacks, dress shirts. We also suggest a sport coat. If you wish to wear suits and ties or tuxedos, by all means we invite you to do so.
  • Ladies: Cocktail dresses, pantsuits, elegant skirts and blouses; if you'd like to show off your evening gowns, that's great too!

Note: Not permitted in the dining room during Cruise Elegant dinner for ladies and gentlemen: shorts, gym shorts, T-shirts, beach flip-flops, bathing suit attire, jeans, cut-off jeans, sleeveless shirts for men, sportswear, and baseball hats.

Cruise Elegant Evenings

The length of the cruise determines the number of Cruise Elegant evenings in the Dining Room. The first Cruise Elegant evening is scheduled for the 2nd or 3rd day of the cruise; the second Cruise Elegant evening is scheduled for the 2nd or 3rd day prior to the end of the cruise, schedules permitting.

  • 1-day cruise: none
  • 2-day to 5-day cruise: one Cruise Elegant evening
  • 6-day or longer cruise: two Cruise Elegant evenings

Note: An exception to this is on the Carnival Breeze Europe 7-day and 9-day cruises there is still only one Cruise Elegant evening.
